After tremendous developer requests about the issue we explained in the previous post, Apple is changing the behavior back to how it was in iPhone software before 3.0. So, that confirmation screen will not appear, and our apps will function as they did in pre 3.0 OS software.

The new software, iPhone OS 3.1 is in BETA 2 stage, and we hope that it will be released in a few weeks.

Dear speed dial users,

Very recently, we started getting complaints about the changed behavior in our speed dial apps. A confirmation dialog pops up when users want to make a call.

Unfortunately, this is an unexpected change in iPhone software brought with 3.0. We are going to show you what happened in the diagrams below. We did not make this change, and as you can see, we don’t have access to iPhone framework to change this behavior.

We are as frustrated as you are. We emailed Apple on this issue, so did some other developers. We hope that Apple changes this behavior in an update, but we cannot promise anything, as this is in Apple’s hand. If Apple provides a solution, we will immediately update these apps. We hope that you continue use these apps, since 2-click is still a better option than going through menus.

Unfortunately, some of the things are not in our hands. iPhone 2.2 update is a great one, but it silently caused problems to our apps.

We had to fix an issue as we wrote in the previous posts. It affected all of our apps, but it is fixed now.

Recently, we started receiving negative feedbacks from European app stores. We couldn’t understand the reason first. After investigating, we noticed that iPhone 2.2 update changed the localization rules, so the apps sold in Europe and anywhere else couldn’t use localization. That means, for instance, user buys an app in French, but it turns out to be in English. Big disappointment, of course. Anyway. We fixed that issue and submitted to the app store. It should be available soon.

The fix for the issue we mentioned in the last post is now available on app store. If you haven’t done yet, please update your applications.

This update not only fixes the problem, which prevented the phone app from exiting after your call ended, it also enhances the apps. The apps will launch faster, and it will take you to home screen after the call ends.

We received emails after the iPhone 2.2 update stating that there is a problem with all of our speed dial apps. Although it shouldn’t have anything to do with our apps, we are the ones who has to find a solution for it. Below is the issue and a temporary fix for it.

Issue: After the call has ended, the screen returns to the phone app, and it gets stuck there. The HOME button somehow doesn’t work, and you can’t go to your home screen.

Temporary fix: When you are stuck at the phone app, just push the sleep botton (on top of your iPhone), and it goes to sleep. Then push it again to wake it up. After you slide to unlock, the HOME button works, and you can exit the phone app.

Permanent fix: We are working on it…
